Kit-Kat or... Kit-Kat?

Postby Zoot » Thu Feb 02, 2012 10:48 am

Kit-Kat have released 4 new Kit-Kat Chunky flavours with a vote for people to decide which one stays, and seeing as they're a firm favourite around here, I thought I'd do a poll.

As anyone actually tried one yet? If not, which one would you buy first?

Not tried any yet (and will never try PB one), so I voted for the one I'd buy should I see 'em.

White over brown for me, every time.
I've actually met Chris n shook his hand. This fact is still causing slight issues in my trouser dept....

I wasn't impressed that even the so-called 70% dark chocolate one had milk in it. Why?

I probably would have an orange one only because it'll just be like a giant club bar.

Because dark chocolate is rank?

White all the way - I could very easily get addicted to the white one, luckily I am only allowing myself one a week on a Friday...

I'm on a big diet at the moment, and Kit Kat chunky is my favourite chocolate bar. I will need to buy many of each flavour and wait until I've lost the appropriate amount of weight.

AND THEN NOM LIKE THERE'S NO TOMORROW.

You just need to add 'FACT' at the end of that and you could be Dave. What you actually mean is you don't like dark chocolate. Not everyone agrees with you! Also, adding milk powder to dark chocolate doesn't make it no longer dark. It just makes it pointless, as people who might specifiaclly choose dark chocolate, like those will a dairy allergy, still can't eat it.

I like dark chocolate, but don't choose it because of it's lack of milk. I just prefer the taste.

All i've tried is the white ones. I'll have to get one of each and eat them one after the other to know for sure...

I think they are all going to be good, but I can tell you now my least favourite will be the white chocolate one.

White chocolate is rubbish. Apart from the stuff that's on the inside of Kinder Eggs.

I don't mind it, but I prefer it as an accent rather than the main deal. I've never had a Kinder Egg, I wouldn't buy chocolate that insubstantial.

No, I'm on a diet - 110 calories is only 110 calories, but if I have that in chocolate it is like an alcoholic telling themselves "oh, ONE glass of wine won't hurt..." It will because psychologically I will have broken my diet so after that anything that stays still long enough is gonna get eaten.

I'm on a diet and have been losing weight but will give these a try (oddly enough having the odd "treat" at the weekend works as I've been losing 1-2lbs a week since the beginning of January) :)

I'm sure there was a white one last year anyway wasn't there, I'm actually interested on the double choc one if it has smooth chocolate inside, however I think they'll all be yummy :)

Kit-Kat or... Kit-Kat?

Postby foot-loose » Fri Feb 03, 2012 7:50 am

I sampled both the double choc and the orange last night and the orange won. The caramel one is better though.

chrysostom wrote:White chocolate is rubbish. Apart from the stuff that's on the inside of Kinder Eggs.

Youre a chocolate racist. (that comment works on two levels - one perhaps much more offensive, and ironic, than the other!)

Keep trying them and make sure you tell me what you think, I can't have them myself but I can have them vicariously through you people.

Had Double Choc, it was OK but just seemed to have an extra thick chocolate piece on the top part, after the orange one next

Only got to try the Double Choc one (which seemed to be available everywhere which suggests this one lost) and the Orange one, haven't seen the others at all in East London over the last week or so.

It's a brilliant marketing scheme from Nestle - which originates from Walkers' 'New flavour' competition.

The problem for the company is this: people buy from the product range steadily, but the brand itself is stagnant & a bit boring. Coupled with the issue that the Kit Kat Chunky Peanut Butter was brought in years ago as a 'Limited Edition' (which was very successful, and lasted a while).

Nestle have used this as a way of making existing customers buy 4 times as many Kit Kats as they usually would, and enticing people who don't like Kit Kats that much into trying them again by bringing the product to the forefront of their customers' minds.

The double chocolate, orange and white chocolate are all designed to make the peanut butter kit kat look like the stand out winner, thus giving Kit Kat a reason to bring back their highly successful product - and creating a 2-3 month spike in their sales.

Also, peanut butter kit kat chunky is the BOMB. I would love this as a birthday 'cake'.
