do what they done with Moyles and Gregg James i.e start them on the early weekday slot (4 a.m - 6:30 a.m) and test the waters there.

In fact the entire current daytime line up started their Radio 1 career on Early Breakfast. Moyles, Fearne (albeit with Reggie), Greg, Scott. Which is worrying as it means Dev might get a prominent new gig some time soon.

As an outsider I have to agree with what everyone else has said, that Andy Parfitt seems to command the respect of the whole radio industry and will be a big loss. Hopefully the new controller won't see the need to fix something that isn't broken.

The only person I want to see booted off daytime is Cotton. If she wasn't a big-ish celeb then she wouldn't even be on radio 1 in my opinion. Her presenting style is so dull, she definitely needs a partner to present with.

Don't forget it was ben that extended the show in 2007. And may of been part of the deal to extend chris's contract for 2 and a half years to protect chris if ben didn't get the job...

Chris has always been untouchable and will present the radio one breakfast show for as long as he wants to,no matter who the controller is!Seriously though,I wonder if Ben Cooper will make any changes to the line up or is happy to keep things the way they are.Chris is safe on breakfast of course,but there has been alot of speculation about some of the other older DJs lately. Who knows if there's any truth in it.I guess we'll find out in the months ahead

Perhaps or maybe it was to give the new controller some breathing room to find/groom a replacement rather than having his/her time in the role defined by replacing Chris early on (especially if it went badly). Another good thing (from my point of view) is that it dramatically reduced the chances of them inflicting Mills on the audience as a stop gap unless Chris makes some dramatic unexpected exit.
