Book Things - the difficult second book

Postby Chris » Mon Sep 10, 2007 8:07 pm

Expect lots of book stuff to appear on the site throughout the rest of September (well, it will when I get back from sunny Dubai). We hope to run a competition like last year, except this time you'll be able to get your hands on a copy of the book before anyone else - plus some fun and exclusive audio peeks into the audiobook which will be released a week before the paper copy!

Watch this space.

Don't you have to stay in the resorts though, so you don't get shot at or something?

The 7 star one? Our MDs been there. We're taking a load of customers to one of the islands if they hit targets with us.

A full review of the book will be posted on the site Oct 1st. And to those who are wondering - it's actually very good and very much along the same lines as the first.

The book area will launch on the site hopefully this week.

While I am not one of them, I have a subtle feeling that some people on here may say that what you are saying is a contradiction in terms.

I would definitely be one of those "some people". Does that mean that he ignores big parts of his career and anything that he might come out of looking less than perfect?

Ahh good. I would have probably read it anyway but the first one did annoy me for that. Its weird because Moyles is generally quite honest on his show about any failings hes had.

I got the impression with the first book that he was writing to a prescribed formula - like he'd been given an outline and a set of things to cover, and been told to do that at the very least. Bearing in mind it was his first try, he had a limited amount of time and no experience, I wasn't entirely surprised he didn't go beyond what he did. Hopefully he has got a bit more confidence now, and the second book will reflect that. I'm sure it will be an entertaining read whatever.

I personally wouldn't bother, having been twice.

On the plus side, I did meet the shopkeeper from Mr Benn, but you won't know who he is.

I see the resemblance, thought it was a messier tache than that, he must have been too scary for me when I was younger.
