Nothing scary just something to say thanks and take a few photos etc. it's not like I'm asking for a one on one champagne lunch at an intimate location.

Well I think most people on here would agree that even if you're not going to be working with Chris after the breakfast show finishes that you'll always be welcome to take part in the other forum discussions anytime :)

mlang wrote:Bit of a 'not quite thought through, spur of the moment question', this, but with Chris' leaving the mornings, will Radio 1 be rebooting itself overall?

I say that because the breakfast show has the big Radio 1 audience, and a lot of them will go. Not saying that Grimmy won't bring his own crowd (he will), or that many won't stay since there isn't really a station for Moyles aficionados to move on to. (And not Radio 2, because we don't tend to be Daily Mail readers). But younger audiences are moving away from linear broadcasting, and more to online sources, downloads, etc. R1 has been moving down that root with web streaming and podcasts and suchlike, but would they consider moving to digital downloads as the primary medium that then gets strung together as radio?

I don't quite know what my question is, more of a vague discussion opener. Any thoughts?

No, no rebooting. Radio 1 is actually incredibly successful at attracting young audiences - The Chris Moyles Show is the most successful of all the shows at attracting young people - this is about older audiences and turning them away, when you have a mass market successful show like ours that has kept it's audience over the 9 years we're not going to lose them. I think management are counting on a lot of the older audiences going from this.

Deadly wrote:Hi Aled, personally speaking I think it would be a shame if you left the forum. It is called ChrisMoyles.net but I know I and a lot of the members care a lot about the other members of the team too. Reading between the lines it would appear you won't be working with Chris on his new project but that wouldn't mean I'm not interested in what you're doing next so I'd love you to stick around but I totally understand if you didn't want to, clean break and all that.

If you do leave the forum can some of the members have a * lunch session arranged as way of a goodbye party? Be a shame for the show to end without its biggest fans not coming up to say bye in person to you as you've done a lot for the site.

That's very kind of you, thank you. As for the lunch, let me know where and when - and I'll see whether I can make it.

The whole team are off during the two weeks. We'll be back on Tuesday the 28th of August for the best set of shows out of the 8.5 years :)

A three-fer for you Aled.

Firstly, Roy's new daily game, I like many others am finding it all rather humorous, but is it actually winnable? I.e. is it just all a joke and Roy will always say no (and that's the point) or is there actually an answer there to guess? If it is winnable does the contestant win anything more than another go the following day.

Secondly, has Tedious Link been dropped for good reason? I'm just hoping you haven't taken it away with the plan to bring it back for just the final show to create an emphasis.

Lastly, I know you can't discuss the future plans of the team, and any specifics or announcements are not your place, but are you able to confirm if we will be hearing announcements on the show itself about each of the teams futures? Or could longer waits be in store? And are you able to confirm if we will still be hearing from both Dom and Dave (who are freelance last I heard) in the future? I.e. will they be contuing work in the public domain/entertainment; be that radio/TV/podcasts etc (as I say, not specifics, just a bit of hope that this isn't the last we'll hear from them even if their futures lie away from radio 1).

Roy's game - now that would be telling! Take it for what it is. Roy. Caller chat. A few giggles - lovely.

Team announcements - yes you will hear soon an end date and as we get close to the end of the show (may even be the final show) you will hear about what each team member is doing next.

Those announcements will include Dave and Dom in whatever they decide to do.

Is it possible we could find out what Chris is doing next before you all go on holiday in august or is it likely to be after you come back before any annoucements are made?

As far as I understand Chris is a member of the team. We will findout after they come back as Aled said in the post right above you.

Roy was very quick to say "no you're wrong" on Tuesday, so I'd say that's a no (for the time being at least)

I listened again today for the first time since the incident, and he really laid in to you! Yudster and I got posts read out, but only you were named and shamed. This is why people don't use their real names on forums!

The reason he focused on me is because my posts were ridiculous! I've tried listening to it again a few times but never quite made it to the end...

Bonjour Aled, can I make a request for you guys to do one of my favourite features before the show ends? I'd love you to play the music love/hate game again. The game lasted about 40 minutes sometimes and was really good radio. If you can't get another radio 1 DJ to play the game with you I am very available. I'll bring cake.

Thanks

Is that the lateness rant? You didn't go to the trouble to clip it when it was already in the vault, did you?

another one of your "assumptions"?
