Bit of a 'not quite thought through, spur of the moment question', this, but with Chris' leaving the mornings, will Radio 1 be rebooting itself overall?
I say that because the breakfast show has the big Radio 1 audience, and a lot of them will go. Not saying that Grimmy won't bring his own crowd (he will), or that many won't stay since there isn't really a station for Moyles aficionados to move on to. (And not Radio 2, because we don't tend to be Daily Mail readers). But younger audiences are moving away from linear broadcasting, and more to online sources, downloads, etc. R1 has been moving down that root with web streaming and podcasts and suchlike, but would they consider moving to digital downloads as the primary medium that then gets strung together as radio?
I don't quite know what my question is, more of a vague discussion opener. Any thoughts?
