Thoughts on visitors ...

The above actually leads me on to something I don't really understand. There are a lot of people who listen to Chris Moyles. This site couldn't be easier to find (it's the first result in google.co.uk and google.com if you search for Chris Moyles), yet it gets a fraction of the visitors that Chris has listeners. It leads me to believe that many people simply don't care enough to see if there's an associated site.

Don't get me wrong, it does get a *lot* of visitors, more than 50,000 visitors over the last month have been people visiting for the first time, but still it's not vast compared to the potential audience for the site.

I think more than likely it suffers from the fact that people just listen at places other than their PC. When it comes to them browsing the web, Chris has vanished from their thoughts. The hourly tracking would seem to support this, with more people hitting the site each hour that the show is on the air, although oddly it peaks between 8pm and 9pm.

Anyway, just my ramblings.

Oh, and the 600 people this month who had to do a google search for 'chris moyles .net' to find the web address to this place are morons.

I wonder what fraction of listeners are fans though; I mean, how many are casual listeners that like what they hear enough to not switch over or put a CD on, and how many really don't like to miss a show.

I think I'm somewhere between the two, but when I registered, I was one of the latter.

I'm quite scared that Chris knows what people are searching for on Google to get here. All a bit 1984 isn't it?

MR Harris Can you hear me I am not a number!

Your browser sends a referrer header when clicking through from a page, so when you click through from a google search the address you were at, which includes what you were searching for, is also passed along by your browser.

So you mean when I go here from my innocent browsing of beautiful busty babes.com Mr Harris can see that as well? It's for research purpose only you hear. I'm doing a thesis or something.

You mean you've not seen Mr Harris' new marketing strategy?

theres always an amusing thread every 6 months or so on silly words or phrases that people have searched and got to chrismoyles.net

more often than now, it will have been some words i had strung together from the show reports i did in 2001, then again i havent read them since 2001
