Wide Awake
Despite only going to bed at 1:15 a.m., Chris is wide awake. Dave, on the other hand, went to bed at 10 p.m. and is still tired.

The show has been nominated in the NME awards for Best Radio Show - or the Zane Lowe Award, as it's more commonly known.

Russell Brand will be on the show tomorrow, as will a Sugababe and a Girl Aloud.

  • Kaiser Chiefs - Ruby
  • Sugababes - Easy
Joella "The Storm" Rossellini
Joel, apparently, is wearing make-up and perfume. He won't have his eyebrows plucked because it hurts too much, but he does shave his legs - even though he's not into cycling - so you can see his mackerel (sorry, dolphin) tattoo.

  • Bedouin Soundclash - When The Night Feels My Song
One Road Travel
Featuring Colin Love, a mortgage broker from Patching Hall Lane in Chelmsford.

Ticking Our Regional Boxes
After listening to a contributor on the news who had a particularly broad Brummie accent, Chris says he thinks most accents in the UK make people sound thick. He can't imagine NASA run by Yorkshiremen, for instance.

Rachel suggested that Radio 3 or 4 might be interested in commissioning an accent tour - an "arty soundscape of voices from Scotland to Jersey fused together in one musical piece". Yam.

  • Pink - U + Ur Hand
  • Fall Out Boy - This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race
  • Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Catch You
Celebrity Tarzan

Ben Kidson, a van driver from Pontefract, wrongly guessed Jamie Oliver. That means he doesn't win the sinister-looking FurReal pet that Dave thought was his ghost cat back to haunt him. Chris would happily eat cats but Dave has a theory that humans aren't supposed to eat carnivores. Except it's OK for Australians to eat crocodiles.

  • Dominic Byrne - José
  • The Pussycat Dolls - Don't Cha
Chris Moyles Karaoke Night
In preparation for the Kaiser Chiefs' gig in Doncaster the following day, the team are putting on a karaoke night at Doncaster College and University Centre on Thursday 8 February. They will also be presenting the breakfast show from Doncaster on the Friday morning.

  • Snow Patrol - Open Your Eyes
  • Gnarls Barkley - Smiley Faces
  • Klaxons - Golden Skans
Rob DJ's Monday Night Pub Quiz
Playing for the girls: Sofia Cordon, a beauty consultant from Nottingham.
For the boys: James McMaughan from Weybridge, a sales manager for an online advertising company.

  3. George Clooney
  4. Michael Owen

The scores: Chris: 4, Dave: 5, Dom: 4, Carrie: 4, Sofia: 2, James: 5 - which leave the leaderboard looking like this:

1. Dave - 17
2. Dom and Carrie - 15
4. Chris - 14

Tedious Link
  • Lenny Kravitz - It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over
Not quite seamless: apparently Cornish pasties are not made with mince.

Rate the Guest: Ricky Wilson
Aled's 8 + Carrie's 7.5 + Dave's 6.8 + Dominic's 6.38 + Rachel's 7.14 + Chris's 6.24 = 42.06, which puts him at the top of the Guest Leaderboard.

Ramble
A couple of Chris's favourite rant topics today:

First: parking outside his home. Somebody has started digging up the road, without any notice, rendering all the parking spaces unusable. Then they managed to cut through a power cable, leaving Chris without electricity for most of the rest of the day. No apology from the workman, just: "Are you Chris Moyles? Nice to meet you."

Second: bad service. Sophie had gone out to dinner with some colleagues, but they hadn't picked the cleanest restaurant in town. As they were complaining to the manager about the c0ckroaches, a mouse ran across the floor. No apology from the manager, just: "Whatever."

  • Joss Stone - Tell Me 'Bout It
  • Razorlight - Before I Fall To Pieces
  • Kaiser Chefs - Donny
  • Mika - Grace Kelly
Car Park Catchphrase
Paul from Doncaster vs. Richard from York. Paul won and added a Jocelin mug to his collection.

Long Out
Things to do. Phone calls to make.
