I appreciate that you listen to the news and will include parts of the news that Chris jumps in on. That's attention to detail. I listen to your edits on a "day delay" on my iPod and it means I don't have to take the iPod out of my pocket to fast forward through the music and news every 15 minutes.

I recently edited another show I listen to in order to remove all the repetititve segments we'd heard before, and it was a lot of work -- granted, removing speech from speech is probably more labour-intensive than removing music from speech and I don't plan on doing it again and am grateful that you do it for us.

Quiet in here...

yeah sorry. I've been bogged down with revision and the missus. Exams finish tomorrow though so can start more editing again hopefully.

Yeah it's an interesting one when it comes to the news. It's often a case of moving forward to see if they talk about something, then going back and making sure it stays in. Generally speaking though, it becomes a very familiar process, and it's actually quite enjoyable once you've gotten used to the format of the show. Of course, then I go and edit a 2007 show, and everything's completely different  like having two songs before the first news bulletin 8O

She must be almost ready to drop now, is she Ben?

I've got a forum member who's literally never posted PMing me almost every week asking for interviews now. Beginning to regret that announcement thread at the top of this section :)

Yep. July 3rd is the due date. I'm gonna attempt to be there for it as well. :S I'm surprised we've got this far and still going strong actually. Definitely proved you wrong :P

I'm starting to doubt the value of sound clips now that you guys are editing and uploading every show. Apart from stuff like parody songs or catchphrases that people might want as text tones or whatever, me spending my time clipping an interview when I can just provide a link to the full show and ask someone to forward through the first hour seems a bit pointless. What do other people think?

I keep every show, but the value of clips is when there is no record or people can't remember which show a particular clip came from.

Mm, true. I just have one person asking me for interviews with people like David Guetta so I'm clipping and uploading them and then they're only getting like 50 downloads. This person has also asked me for Alesha Dixon and I just don't think enough people are interested in hearing that again to make it worth my while, especially as she's on the show every 6 months or so.

From a purely selfish point of view I like that you still do the clipped interviews.
This is because I am a lazy arse and all the effort it would take to skip to the interview itself seems like a huge hassle to me.

Now if someone can nip on over to my fridge and grab me a can of Irn-Bru I would be ever so grateful.

Cheers.

*Edit -

By that I mean the worthwhile interviews. Ones that at least have a bit of gravitas to them. Or ones that went down a storm.

Not run of the mill, usual guest in, saying the same shite we heard last time they were on.

I was considering it. But are there actually any talking bits in it? It sounded like it would just be a dance music show.

I listened and he talked a reasonable amount in the first 2hrs. But the soundclash is pretty much as you described, and will be a pain to edit.

I listened to part of it and Chris is talking about his visit to The Hotel. I'm saving the rest until I catch up with the rest of my "ianpwilliams edits" of last week's show! :D

Fair enough, I'll download it tomorrow and maybe give it a go.

I'm still really far behind on listening to my edits of last week's Moyles after my computer problems, which is a nice problem to have

Well I've edited it. You were right Nicola, editing the soundclash was a pain! In fact, I'm not sure if that whole section was worth leaving in. There's just lots of "make some noise" and "hands in the air", and far too much Zane Lowe. So I've created and uploaded a second version without the soundclash, which is the one I'll be listening to!

Any chance of a version actually with the music of the soundclash still intact?
