No, don't! If he doesn't want to do it, he shouldn't be pressured into it.

That's why I want to get someone else to do it! I would be obliged but don't have access to start or edit anything in The Vault!

I could do it, but I'm conscious of stepping on Johnny's toes. However, it really does need updating, especially with the influx of newbies and the now pressing need to have all those old shows lined up ready for listening!

Yeah, I wanted to download shows from 2008 and they weren't in the archive thread so I had to search this thread for them! Found them eventually though :)

I've tweeted Johnny. If he's happy for me to update the archive then I'll get on it as soon as I can.

All Day Breakfast Shows 2010

Postby DarroM » Thu Jul 12, 2012 6:17 pm

Don't know if it anyone has uploaded the All Day Breakfast shows from the 1st January 2010 on archive already but stupid me accidentally deleted them while I was getting rid of the unedited shows I had from 2010 (just going to download the edited shows since I rather have them to be honest). Thanks in advance!

Can I request 27th April 2012 (unedited) or edited with the Robbie williams shoutouts at the end of his song.
The edited version has deleted my shoutout on the Golden Hour (after Robbie Williams)

I missed getting a recording of it due to being away (got back and the iplayer copy had gone on the same day! groans)

Cheers

Out of curiosity, Are the 2008 edits O.K.? I know there not up to the standard of ianpwilliams or bmstinton93 but are they good. I'm slightly worried that they are not up to scratch (Part ego, part genuine curisoty asking).

P.s: It's a sad time when I start putting last ever.. instead of just the day or guest or place name. I'm really not looking forward to putting last ever Breakfast show in my library of shows. And a year from now I'll have to put "Last ever Radio 1 show" on it.

But they need to listenable though. Which yours are. And with this sudden influx of newbies. We need to impress to keep em coming back.

They seem fine to me. It would be nice if you were able to put fades in at the edit points, but I know that isn't possible with all software, and that it's also time-consuming. But really I'm only fussy about having fades when I do edits myself. When it comes to other people's edits, I'm just glad that someone took the time to do them, which I'm guessing is most people's opinion.

Absolutely. I download every show that is added and I am grateful for every one of them.

The 4th Sep 2009 show that I grabbed from archive.org to do the Dave Indian Loyalty edit had the Robbie Williams interview edited out. Was that deliberate? Are other interviews cut out?

Moyles and Mark & Lard Archive - Discussion & Request Thread

Postby bmstinton93 » Fri Jul 13, 2012 7:20 am

Ian, can you check the ask Aled thread please and possibly put together a list of all the missing shows? Or actually, Jamie weren't you working on some sort of project like that?

As far I remember, lots of my 2009 shows were incomplete. This is because I used to listen live back then, but only to some of the show, so I edited the part that I hadn't listened to live. I'm sure that Jamie sent 2009 full shows to someone to edit though, so I think the idea is that those will replace them.

If someone can update the archive again then I can have a go at comparing my list and the archive list (I'm pretty sure some got uploaded to IA but went missing from the list). Once that's done, maybe we can somehow work out which ones we are missing.

I haven't really been part of the conversation, but if Aled has WAVs of every show, would we not want to archive all of them? I've been listening to some 2004 shows and the quality is pretty low.

Why not give Aled a blank USB hard drive and ask for all the shows? I can help out with this if you need help.

Cheers!

Moyles and Mark & Lard Archive - Discussion & Request Thread

Could be a good idea. Do you have one you would be prepared to send to Aled? Personally I'd like unedited versions of all these as well.

Well yeah, that would be the ideal solution! If they are all WAVs though, then it would require a pretty massive hard drive. But personally I would love to have every show. Actually, I would love to have an edited version of every show. And I would definitely be prepared to buy a hard drive.

So who's going to take the plunge and "Ask Aled"? Shouldn't it be "Archive" Johnny? Or "Website" Chris?
