Yeah I know, I've been away from here for a while, the news of Moyles buggering off of Radio 1 (for a while at least) has bought me back (in some ways sadly).

Has there been any more news on this rumour Radio 2 80's show that Moyles may be doing (now that I'd definitely listen to :))

If you're not using iTunes, I should mention 1by1 which is a great Windows app for playing the contents of an entire directory. No scanning, it remembers where you left off, supports WinAmp plugins etc. It's great: http://mpesch3.de1.cc/1by1.html

I'll give that a look, although I tend to listen to my mp3's at home on my PC, and also out and about on my phone or iPod (yes I hate Apple and iTunes, but I love my iPod, if only for Football Manager Handheld). So I always copy them across.

I haven't heard any rumours at all about what Moyles will do after the show ends. Whatever it is, I would hope it could still involve Dave and Doma, because I only really listen for their banter. And I hate 80's music :)

There was something in the Daily Mirror about it last weekend. But they might just be digging up old stories because it was a slow news day.

I've come to hate the title of this thread. It's like a whiny ex trying to persuade you to go back to them. "B-but...you don't want me anymore?!..."

it does have a point tho... What radio station is for trendy 30-somethinks who prefer Rizzle Kicks to Annie Lennox, yet don't want everything to be based around exams and dealing with spots...?
I've actually met Chris n shook his hand. This fact is still causing slight issues in my trouser dept....

You're right. There is no such station that I know of. I wonder if there was, what sort of listening figures it would get...?

I've got most of J&ETS E1-148 now, although I'm missing E27 (which wasn't on your Cloud Storage page), and E46-50. Were you planning on adding any of those shows to those two Cloud Storage pages?

Ep. 27: http://www.dimeforscale.com/forum/viewt ... 63#p538363

I called everyone dingbats on DFS for not keeping up to date, but as it's you and you're new to JETS and you do so much for the TCMS archiving effort, I have uploaded 46-50 just for you, babydoll! http://www.mediafire.com/?tmkd1kmqul8fw

How many eps have you heard?

FYI, most JETS fans think Eddie is an unfunny douche and we all skip the x minutes of begging for money at the beginning of the show -- fast forwarding to the theme tune. :D

None yet. I just thought that seeing as podcasts aren't usually all that huge I might as well get as many as I can, going back as far as I can, and if I like them then I won't have missed out. I'm sure I will like them though, from what people say. I've got all of JETS, and TMP, and I just downloaded 50 Greg Fitzimmons ones to my iPod, which I am now trying to transfer to my PC (for some reason the GF RSS page has very little there).

You like the daytime playlist? 80% of it to me is just crap and I'm supposedly target audience.

The one bright spot for me in the ending of the show is that I will never again have to subject my ears to the R1 playlist. I hope that Chris will be able to get his good taste in music back again once he leaves the station, as he appears to be genuinely enjoying a lot of the crap they play these days. I used to agree with most of his views on the playlist back in the afternoons and the early days of the breakfast show, but perhaps working for so long in a building that pumps out the kind of terrible music it increasingly does these days has addled his brain.

I think Chris' taste in music is Chris' taste. I agree with some of his opinions and disagree with others, That's the joy of music. We don't all like the same type (That would be a boring world) but music can evoke a different emotional responce and long forgotten memories for different people all around the globe.

For people who dont like the Radio 1 playlist I would like to hear specific suggestions of what songs they would actually like on there. For a station that aims at 15-29 year olds I don't see what they could do differently.

Having just looked at the Radio 2 playlist I personally wouldn't swap a single song of theirs for what is on the Radio 1 playlist, and some of the Radio 1 stuff I am not a fan of.

It doesn't appear to exist. In an ideal world Moyles, Sara Cox, Vernon Kay, Annie Mac, Nick Grimshaw and Zane Lowe would set up their own station to cater for what I want and put themselves on the daytime/evening schedule.

That's all true enough, but I would say that I have a very wide taste in music and yet I like almost none of R1's current output. I'm not saying that's a problem for them (as I'm in the age-group they want to get rid of) and that they should alter their music policy, it's just my own observation.
