The end of the Chris Moyles Show

Postby chrisjames » Wed Jul 11, 2012 7:07 am

I just had to respond to the news that Chris Moyles has just announced that he's leaving the breakfast show in September .It was a day I'm sure most of us hoped would not come for a long time.Best to Chris and the team for the future. I just can't stop crying!I hope we'll still hear Chris on the radio somewhere though!

Here is a link to the sad news http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/18792684

It's about time. He's had a brilliant stint which I'm sure he's very very proud of.

I knew this would happen soon, but in a couple of months!!, I thought he had another year and a bit left on his contract, I suppose he just wants to do it his way before anybody does for him, very sad day :(

It was inevitable the new radio 1 and Chris were never going to mix - like oil and water. Let's hope we hear him somewhere soon where he can be himself again. Good luck Chris.

The timing has to have something to do with the musical doesn't it?

I really think Aled should have announced what they were doing for the Torch again first...

It's sad, and I will have great memories of the show, but it had reached it's natural end in my opinion. I look forward to a new, fresh Chris Moyles show wherever and whenever that may be.

In hindsight, I guess that's why they've been winding down the regular features like tedious.

It really is true-here's the official news release http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/18792684 :(

Looks like you're right travis. The shows ending just as the musical starts.I guess Ben Cooper didn't think Chris could fully commit to both ..

The end of the Chris Moyles show-I am in tears right now

Postby G-Sizzle » Wed Jul 11, 2012 7:25 am

Tell me I didn't just hear that!!?

But like others have said, the new radio one isn't a good home for Moyles. I don't think I'm the only person who only listens to R1 for the moyles show. The rest of their output is utter dross, why they insist on playing the music they do baffles me.

This is a really sad day, hopefully Chris and co. will find a new station, but with Chris' fingers in so many different pies I think this is the end of Moyles' radio adventure.

I'm so sad I thought it was a joke to begin with. Like most people I wasn't expecting it this morning.
IT WAS WHAT IT WAS.

"I don't want to go back."
"Ask Me to stay"
