Someone on digispy said that when the time comes for Chris to leave R1 he should go to talksport.

Though theres been more ill-suited appointments in that mad house in the past, it would be worth it just to hear a handover between him & Alan Brazil. 8)

I'd be surprised if Mills was offered it, seeing as he's getting on a bit himself - I could see it more going to Greg James.

Have any of you thought that it might well go to somebody not working at radio 1?

Russell Brand's short stint on there springs to my mind!

Don't be silly R1 have the best DJs in the country.

The move for Scott to go from R1 to Capital seems very likely and R1 have already been trialing Grimmie in Scotts slot and it's proven popular.

I think the Capital Breakfast show would be more likely to go to Grimmy than anyone else at R1.

Of course, but we were speculating who at Radio 1, if anyone, it could go to.

I think if Scott gets offered it then he should definitely take it. It will probably be a good move for him and I think he deserves it as well. He is great.

It depends how highly he values the BBC as an employer - once you make the move away, it's tough to go back. The money will be phenomenal (comparatively), but the prestige will be far lower.

That's exactly why Chris will never make the move but I'm not sure that concerns Scott as much.

Ok then. In my opinion it would be Scott aswell. But I think Cox is going soon anyway. I can't remember when or the specific details of the conversation but I did get the feeling that she was going to do an interveiw for another station. A tad vague I know but it stuck in my head.

Capital do tend to go with "celeb" presenters rather than radio people - as such I reckon Coxy would tick their boxes, and they would be bloody lucky to get her. But that's why I think Grimmy is a better bet than Mills, he is associated less narrowly with radio.

A few weeks ago when refuting an article in the Daily Mail that she was set to get the bullet she said that she had just signed a new contract at Radio 1. She did say something recently about doing other stuff as she is freelance, I cant remember what it was though, but it cant be radio.

I hope Grimmy doesnt go anywhere. He should be replacing Fearne Cotton if anything. I would take him ahead of Greg James to, but that isnt going to happen.

Cotten isnt good, not by a long stretch but you really hate her as a radio presenter dont you?

Actually Fearne would be a good shout for the Capital job wouldn't she? She has mass broadcast-media appeal, she is young, she has mainstream prime time radio experience at the top of the industry - and since when have Capital given a damn about their presenters being any good? She'd be perfect for them!

No, not really. I dont think she is good at her job, but I certainly dont hate her as a presenter at all. I think I am actually one of the more charitable people to her on here.

Whenever I have read interviews with her and when I see her on Celebrity Juice, I like her quite a lot. I think she deserves great credit for her appearnces on Celeb Juice. She has the shit ripped out of her on that show and she takes it admirably.

But as a radio presenter she isnt very good at all. But that is pretty much fact isnt it.

That is a good shout. You make a very good case there! They'd need to get rid of Lisa Snowdon forst though. Never heard a of a female double act on a breakfast show before.

Of course, good call. She would be perfect of local London tin pot crap pop/dance radio, a match made in commercial heaven, I'm all for it! :D
