The top heart is connected to an aluminum computer silver, heat sink that is connected to the wall. This is one of the better projects I have made over the years. We won't exchange them till tonight, so I don't know what I will get just yet.

See you say its overrated, but you and your other half are actually making even more of a song and dance about it than people who just send cards and flowers and crap like that! At least your fuss is original and personal though. I quite like what you do - definitely couldn't be bothered to do it myself though.

Ah thank you, I'm getting married in April and feel exactly the same.

Funnily it's all her single mates that were getting on to her saying that we should make the most of our last valentines day before marriage !?! Whys that then ?

Well I guess I look at the thing different, not being commercial about it and enjoying it on our own individual way. Got the idea from a coworker at an old workplace years ago. OK maybe we are guilty, hard to see the guilt through rose colored glasses :D

Thanks Yudster, I didn't feel the project was criticize, I felt I was caught out being hypocritical for doing something on valentines day. It is true I was, I see. It isn't right to say my project is better than those who give candy and champagne. I do enjoy doing something really different although some years I don't know what the hell I am going to do and feel pressured. This year my first two project ideas didn't work and it was literally the third time was the charm. I don't think I can post photos here. If you want to see it, send me a private message with your email address and I will send you a couple pics of it.

I'm not sure what you were more annoyed about there, the bad use of punctuation or the fact that we have another asking stupid questions. But that is one of the nicest greetings i have ever seen a newbie receive. :P

I kind of find it hard to have much sympathy for Chris on the romance front. He had a great long-term girlfriend, who he dumped because she wanted to get more serious. Not that his 'free and single' goal really worked out for him in the end though....

I know what you are saying but we don't really know why their relationship ended. We know what's been said, but it has to have been far more complicated than that.

And even if you do take what was reported at face value, that doesn't point to him wanting to be free and single does it? It points to him wanting to be in a settled, long term monogamous relationship which doesn't involve the immediate production of children, or the promise to produce them in the future. Sophie apparently didn't want the end bit of that and most (not all...) women wouldn't, so if that's what he's holding out for now, he may have a long wait.

I am finding that men who don't want or don't already have kids are becoming increasingly rare. My ex wanted them and that's one of the reasons we split, although not the main one. I knew when I had my sterilisation that it was a death-knell for us.
