Number One That Week - Erasure: Abba-esque EP

    Record Label - Columbia
    Chart History - 6 weeks/No.17

Recommended Manic Street Preachers Single: From Despair To Where (1993)
Recommended Manic Street Preachers Album: The Holy Bible (1994)

MC Fact Attack: AT LAST!!! I have been waiting three and a half years for this day. The reason? For Dave to play the greatest song ever recorded, on Tedious Link. The best song in the world by the best band in the world. Granted, my own opinion but still. I've changed the recommended single because there are so many more than just this, but seriously.. just buy the back catalogue if you are interested in intelligent music and bands trying to make a difference... still - after all these years. This song is 14 years old. Unbelievable. I'm so pleased Moyles said it was "a great record" too. Made my day. Lyrics jointly by Nicky Wire and Richey Edwards. (The recommended album, "The Holy Bible", the darkest and most disturbingly brilliant collection of songs ever written and recorded, is pictured left).

    Chart History - 14 weeks/No.1

Recommended Take That Single: Never Forget (1995)

MC Fact Attack: Spent two weeks at the top and provided good old Lulu, with her only number one single, nearly 30 years after her first hit. Also the second of Take That's four consecutive number one singles, which at the time made them the first band to do so since The Beatles. An inspired choice by Dave for today's Tedious Link, and the third in a row this week from the year 1989. (The recommended album, "Full Moon Fever", is pictured left).

Recommended Waterboys Single: The Whole Of The Moon (1985)

MC Fact Attack: A St. Paddy's Day treat for everybody. But what a mistaker to maker from Dave in the link (click homepage then the Friday Listen Again link in the top right corner). Recommended Coldplay Album: A Rush Of Blood To The Head (2002)

MC Fact Attack: Coldplay are the only ever band to have won both a Brit and a Grammy for each of their first two albums. As regards this song, I remember the first time I ever heard it. I was listening to Moyles, he played it prior to the news - then off the back of the news he took the piss out of the singer with the news and sport monkeys, saying he sung like Alan Partridge. Mmm, A-ha indeed. (The recommended album, "A Rush Of Blood To The Head", is pictured left).
